Sunday Service : Tinting

Sunday Service is all about breaking down our service menu to ensure you are as educated as possible when crafting your brow plan that will serve your goals best for the long game. Our job is to simplify your routine with confidence to be your most authentic self. As an established brow specialist since 2016 with a visual arts degree and a five star google review, Scout has a cultivated a name you can put your trust in. We’re here to meet your aesthetic needs. While we love a fluffy brow (it’s kind of our thing), we get that sometimes a manicured shape can be a better fit. Tight lines, defined tails, but a soft powdery front. For us, we want you to be able to book what you want, without being put into a box. We believe that brows are for all kind, so your service should reflect that.

balance over symmetry

One of the pillars to our service menu is in our process : our signature mapping technique. By using “The Golden Ratio” for key points along your facial structure, we create a mapped grid for your ideal balanced brow, bespoke for you. Our bone structure is asymmetrical so balanced is the key word. It visually reveals any areas that need new growth and what background noise doesn’t serve you. While we use this for shaping to remove hair, it is also instrumental in tinting. As the tint can stain the skin up to 14 days, we want it to be as balanced as possible, following your natural hair. If you’re interested in taking your brows to the next level, consider booking an add on for your next session. We offer THREE types of tint and they all achieve a similar effect, but we will pick based on your NEEDS. It’s all about creating a controlled aesthetic with various options.

tinting three ways

  • Henna (Dyotics) : lasts 4-6 weeks and stains the skin up to 14 days. Henna has the most contraindications to consider before booking as it is similar to traditional hair dye (including “Just For Men”). This is why it is not viable with lamination. We recommend waiting up to 12 weeks for your hair to cycle out prior to lamination. Please let us know if you have recently used any hair dye products - trust me, we will find out (think tiger stripes and hair fallout). It is also not recommended for those with skin sensitivities. There is an extra $10 add on for henna as it takes longer to set.

  • Natural Tint (Refrectocil) : lasts 3-5 weeks, vegetable based dye and is more suited to sensitive skin, stains the skin up to 2 days and is viable with lamination. Aesthetically, it picks up on the hair more than the skin for an ultra natural look.

  • Hybrid Tint (Bronsun) : lasts 5-7 weeks, stains the skin up to 7 days, similar to henna in that it is high performing, but it is ammonia free and more gentle on the skin and hair, so it is viable with lamination. This is our go to tint, so let us know if you have something else in mind.

aesthetic goals

Sometimes the add ons are game changers and tinting is one of them. You may be surprised at how much hair you might have. For those who are blonde, going grey, have “peach fuzz”, uneven coloring, and scars or gaps in their brows, tinting can reveal a much fuller brow. We want the tint to be slightly past our comfort level in order to meet its fullest potential for lived in brows that serve you as long as possible. However, it can be a bit overwhelming to experience a bolder brow for first time (or every time, let’s be honest). This can often be an indicator that permanent make up might not be a great fit. We usually recommend testing this out before we do any invasive services. I know for myself, it made the difference between needing an invasive service like microblading or not. While permanent make up is my first love, I recognize that it should be your LAST RESORT for the brows of your dreams.

We believe in creating a consistent aesthetic, so we have mastered creating an ombre brow through our three tinting methods, but also through tattooing which may be a good fit if at some point you want a more low maintenance service, refreshing once a year, as opposed to coming in every 4-6 weeks with tinting. Having a well defined brow can give you back time, with less product needed and more control now that you’re working with a balanced shape. Expect high performing tints that serve your routine, frame your face, and allow you to focus on ALL THE THINGS you’ve been called to do with confidence.

love, your girl Scout
