Dear Dylan,

For much of my life, I have been the wall flower in the background. The girl watching the boys, secret crushes, code names for said crushes and even the odd stalking adventure as a foolish (and always dreamy and star eyed) 14 year old. But after all these years, I’m still that girl. Maybe I’m a romantic. Maybe I believe in fate (okay, providence) but there was magic that day I met you. All I was doing was stepping into a beauty counter. It took a moment before I realized who you were. My dream client.

What made that so poignant was that not only were you willing to take a chance on me, but it gave me the hope that what I sought to create was needed. #GUYBROWS is not uncommon, but in Calgary, it can be. Men typically book their sessions based on their gender, not their needs and most studios are hyper feminine. The foundation of Scout was brows for all kind. Men, women, non-cis, queer, whatever. Even choosing the name Scout was intended on being approachable. That day almost 18 months ago was kismet and I am honoured to share your story, craft the effortless brows you dreamt of and capture you as you are - a resilient man. beautiful queen - inside and out, brave and hopeful (oh and don’t forget that smoulder!) I want to thank you for the honest conversations we’ve had. To me, this is where the true magic happens. It is subtle, but another sort of alchemy in and of itself.

Dear Dayna,

Where do I start? My brows where the bane of my existence. Growing up, I was always picked on for how fair my eyebrows were naturally. I’d just brush it off, but it was always was one of those small things that I would have always liked to change. I started to look into cosmetics to change their shape and color, and it’s pretty much what launched me into working in the makeup world! I came to love my brows and features through cosmetics in a way I didn’t think I would, naturally, or cosmetically. Getting my brows microbladed was one of the best choices in my life honestly. Dayna made me feel incredibly comfortable through the process. We met at my work one day by pure chance and her passion for men’s brows and personality was what sold me to do it. I’ve never felt more confident in my own skin and I would highly recommend Dayna to anyone who’s ever thought of getting theirs worked on.
